The Registration Desk exists for one reason: so the line moves at order speed instead of paperwork speed. While the Welcome Desk takes orders, you walk the line and get people signed up β€” one screen, 6 steps, and a reset button for the next person.

The short version: search their name, and either send them on or create their profile. No orders, no services, no clothing sizes here. Sign them up and point them to the Welcome Desk.

Step 1: Open the Registration station

Log in, open the nav menu, and pick Registration (the pencil icon). It sits right under Welcome Desk in the same list of stations.

The first thing you see is a search box under the question Who’s next in line? That is where every neighbor starts, new or returning.

The Registration Desk card. A heading reads Who's Next In Line, a line below says Search by name β€” new to Serve513, you'll create a profile, and an empty search box sits underneath.
The whole station is one card: a question and a search box.

Step 2: Search first β€” always

Type their name into the box. Do this even when they tell you they have never been here before. A second profile for someone already on file is the exact mistake this desk exists to prevent β€” duplicates split a neighbor’s history in two, and nobody notices until months later.

The box searches three things: their name, their preferred name, and their date of birth. If the name is a common one, ask for a birthday and type just the year, like 1985, or the month and day written short, like Sep 2. Don’t type it with slashes: 09/02/1985 comes back No matches even for a neighbor who is on file, and that is how duplicate profiles get made.

Step 3: Already on file? Send them on

If you tap a match, you get a short card: their initials, their name, and a green Already registered tag. There is deliberately no button here to create anything β€” they are done.

Tell them: head to the Welcome Desk line to place an order. Then click Back to search and call the next person up.

A card showing the initials MA, the name Maria Alvarez, a green Already registered tag, the line They're all set β€” send them to the Welcome Desk line to place an order, and a Back to search button.
Already on file β€” no create button, on purpose.

Step 4: Nobody matched? Create the profile

When nothing matches, the list says No matches β€” and right below it there is always a dashed row: Create a profile for β€œβ€¦β€, marked First time at Serve513. Click it.

The search box with Jordan Avery typed in. The dropdown below reads No matches and offers a dashed row: Create a profile for Jordan Avery, marked First time at Serve513.
No matches β€” the Create a profile row is right there under the box.

The name you typed carries into the form, split into first and last, already capitalized. Nothing is saved yet β€” the header says New profile Β· not yet saved, so a wrong turn here costs nothing.

Step 5: Fill in the form

It is one column, built for a phone you are holding while standing in the line. Here is what each field is for:

  • First name / Last name β€” their name for the record. You need at least one of these (or a preferred name) to save.
  • Preferred name β€” what they actually go by. If they give you one, it becomes the name every station sees, so it is worth asking: β€œWhat should we call you?”
  • Gender β€” starts on Prefer not to say so you are never stuck waiting on an answer. Change it when the neighbor shares; leave it when they don’t.
  • Date of birth β€” optional, but the single best way to tell two same-named neighbors apart next visit. Type it as numbers: 04/12/1978. Half a birthday will not save β€” the form asks for the whole thing.
  • Phone / Email β€” optional. Take them if they are offered.
  • Veteran β€” tick it, so the team can point them to everything they qualify for.
  • Accessibility needs β€” Mobility, Vision, Hearing, Other. Tick anything that applies.

When it looks right, tap Register neighbor at the bottom.

The new-neighbor form: a New tag under the heading Jordan, marked New profile not yet saved, then First name, Last name, Preferred name, Gender set to Prefer not to say, Date of birth, Phone, Email, a Veteran checkbox, Accessibility needs with Mobility ticked, and a blue Register neighbor button.
The whole form, top to bottom β€” most of it optional.

Step 6: Register another

Success looks like a green check and their name: β€œMarcus J. is registered.” Underneath, a small chip confirms the important part β€” findable in search right away.

A confirmation card with a green check: Marcus J. Is Registered, the line Added to the directory β€” they can head to the Welcome Desk line, a chip reading Findable in search right away, and a blue Register another button.
Done β€” tap Register another and the desk clears itself.

That means it: search for them a second later and they come up, tagged Added this shift. No reload, no waiting.

Send them to the Welcome Desk line, tap Register another, and the desk resets to an empty search box for the next person.

One thing to tell the Welcome Desk

The Welcome Desk loads its own copy of the directory when its page opens. A neighbor you register while that page is already sitting open will not appear in their search until they reload it. If they say β€œI can’t find the person you just signed up,” that is the fix β€” refresh the page.

That’s it!

The whole thing, one more time

  1. Log in and open the Registration station
  2. Search their name β€” always, before anything else
  3. Already on file? Send them to the Welcome Desk line
  4. New neighbor? Click Create a profile
  5. Fill in the short form and click Register neighbor
  6. Click Register another for the next person in line

Once they are registered, the Welcome Desk takes it from there β€” see Welcome Desk: How to Find a Returning Client. And if the line gets ahead of you, grab a team lead or use the Contact link at the top of any page. Thanks for keeping the line moving!
