SayHello Neighbor operates Serve513 to help volunteers and coordinators organize community service days. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit Serve513, create an account, or use its volunteer tools.

Information we handle

Signing in with Google

If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides your basic profile information, including your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier through our authentication provider, Clerk. We use this information to identify you, create or link your account, and enable access to Serve513. This sign-in integration does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or calendar. We do not receive your Google password.

How we use and share information

We use information to manage accounts and permissions, coordinate volunteer participation, support service-day operations, respond to requests, and investigate errors or misuse. Authorized coordinators and administrators can access information needed for those tasks.

We use Clerk for authentication, Supabase for application data storage, and Netlify for hosting. These providers process information as needed to deliver their services. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to investigate abuse and protect people or the service. We do not sell volunteer personal information or use Google account information for advertising.

Cookies and device storage

Authentication and security features use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and protect requests. The installed app may cache site resources on your device. Blocking cookies can prevent sign-in. Sign out and clear site data when you finish using a shared device.

Retention, correction, and deletion

We retain account and volunteer records as needed to operate the program, maintain service records, address security issues, and meet applicable obligations. Retention depends on the record and its purpose; closing an account does not necessarily erase associated event records, security logs, or backup copies immediately.

To request access, correction, or deletion, email contact@sayhelloneighbor.net. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request and will explain any information we need to retain. You can also remove Serve513's Google access from your Google Account's third-party connections settings. Removing that access does not itself delete information already held by Serve513.

Protecting volunteers and neighbors

Account permissions and security controls help limit access to information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Volunteers must use information about neighbors only for authorized service tasks and report accidental disclosures to us. This policy covers the volunteer platform; any separate medical, screening, or event-specific consent must be explained by the organization providing that activity.

Changes and questions

We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice or request consent when required. Contact SayHello Neighbor at contact@sayhelloneighbor.net with questions about this policy. Read our website terms for volunteer account and confidentiality responsibilities.
